Sandeman House was founded in London in 1790 by George Sandeman, a young Scotsman born in Perth who decided to invest 300 pounds, borrowed from his father, in a business selling Port and Jerez wines. Always pioneering, Sandeman was the first company to mark a cask on fire with its name, guaranteeing the quality of the wine it traded. Over more than two centuries, Sandeman has based its success on a rare capacity for innovation and on expertise passed down from generation to generation. Today, led by the Portuguese company Sogrape Vinhos, Sandeman clearly positions itself as the world’s leading brand of Port and Jerez and proudly signs: “Sandeman, Famous for Pleasure”.
