The House of Sandeman was founded in London in 1790 by George Sandeman, a young Scotsman from Perth who decided to invest 300 pounds, borrowed from his father, in a business trading Port wine and Jerez. A pioneer from the start, Sandeman was the first company to mark a fire barrel with its name, guaranteeing the quality of the wine it sold. Over more than two centuries, Sandeman has built its success on a rare capacity for innovation and the expertise passed down from generation to generation. Today, led by the Portuguese company Sogrape Vinhos, Sandeman proudly positions itself as the world’s leading brand of Port wine and Jerez, proudly signing off with: “Sandeman, Famous for Pleasure”.
