This Santa Valha Reserva is a real journey into the heart of Trás-os-Montes – a wine with a colour that practically begs to be explored. The dark plum and fig aromas are beautifully enhanced by a touch of spice, a testament to the producer’s dedication to barrel ageing. On the palate, the fruit intensity is wonderfully restrained, with subtle toasty notes recalling a fine Porto. And, having scooped a silver medal at the Provas do Douro, it’s a fantastic match for a hearty wild boar roast.
