This São Bernardo Alecrim is a truly evocative wine. Initially, you’re greeted with a beautiful straw-gold hue, hinting at the richness within – honey and dried fig intertwine beautifully, punctuated by a vibrant Douro-like citrus note. Subtle spice and resin whispers reveal the estate’s remarkable terroir, and a delightfully unexpected smoked element adds another layer of complexity. It’s a full-bodied wine with excellent balance, boasting a long, lingering finish. I’d recommend pairing it with grilled white fish, or perhaps a classic Bacalhau à Brás, to really let its character shine.
