Depending on its age, the wines may show signs of time, such as dust on the bottles and/or damage to the labels—common in vintages that have spent decades in storage. The National Cellar stores all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, yet always preserves the visual character associated with their age. We usually select brands or regions that perform well in old‑wine competitions. However, wine is a living organism exposed to time, and even within a bottle its aromas evolve. Thus the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the wine’s quality, as it is an aged wine. Our advice is to open and let the bottle breathe first, helping to release the natural aromas after so many years sealed. Avoid decanting, as it can be too aggressive for old wines.
