Secret Spot Fortificado

Description

Secret Spot, the first Moscatel from the Douro to carry this age designation. The wine is produced from several lots of Moscatel grapes, all sourced from our Quinta da Faísca, aged in used wooden barrels. The newest of these had 73 years. Limited edition, numbered, 120 bottles of 500 ml. Winemaker: Gonçalo Lopes. The soil is xistose, with a franco‑argilous structure and granite outcrops. Vine age: No records available to determine exact age. Vinification: Hand‑harvest. Grapes are fermented in a stone basin with foot pressing. The pellicles are dehydrated, then macerated in wine spirit. Post‑fermentation maceration of the must is carried out with the wine spirit. The must is pressed and subsequently aged in old wooden barrels. Aging: The various wines were aged in bonded wooden barrels of various volumes until the lot was formed, a minimum of 73 years.
