Description

Since 1895, Carvalho, Ribeiro & Ferreira, LDA has been producing wines and brandy. In the early 1980s, they launched a vineyard development plan. They own vineyards in the Dão – Quinta do Serrado, in Torres Vedras – Quinta da Folgorosa, and in Colares – Tavares & Rodrigues. At Quinta do Serrado, C. R. & F. vinifies its own production of about 10 hectares. Quinta da Folgorosa covers roughly 45 hectares, part of which is bottled as estate wine while the surplus goes into other table wines. In Colares, the famed Colares wines are experiencing a renaissance; the estate has about 10 hectares in full production. Since 1992, it has begun its own production and has been involved in microvinification experiments to assess how these wines evolve under different vinification conditions. Since 1991, it has been restructuring internally to achieve tighter operational control. Its goal is to produce quality products at competitive prices. (Illustrative image only)
