The estate, where the Serras de Grândola wines are produced, boasts a fifty‑year‑old vineyard planted in 1961 and a newer one from 2008. The vineyards lie about 10 km from the coast, between Praia da Aberta Nova and Praia da Galé, bathed in Atlantic breezes. They sit at 150 m above sea level on the western slope of Serra de Grândola, providing the nightly coolness needed for proper ripening. The soils are highly mineralised, dominated by iron and slate, which complement the unique location. The wines are crafted in the house cellar with the whole family’s help. The soils are low in organic matter but rich in iron. (illustrative image only)
