Born from a lineage as old as Daniela Matias and Nuno Morais Vaz’s grandmother, this Pet Nat is a gloriously untamed Douro granite enigma. Crafted solely from Viosinho, Códega, Rabigato and Síria grapes – a vineyard practically brimming with history – the wine’s complexity blooms thanks to purely spontaneous fermentation driven by wild yeasts. As if that weren’t enough, a patient aging *sur lie* has only deepened the flavour profile, earning it a remarkable 86 points from *Revista de Vinhos*. It’s a rustic beast best enjoyed alongside a generous slab of aged cheese and some wonderfully dried figs – a pairing that perfectly captures the spirit of the Douro.
