Symington Family Estates has two important wineries in the Douro, one at Quinta do Sol near Régua and another at Quinta do Bomfim near Pinhão. Their main purpose is to vinify the grapes that, each harvest, Symington purchases from more than 1,200 growers spread across the entire Douro valley. These two wineries produce the largest volume of Port and Douro DOC wines. In addition, the family owns seven small specialised wineries, each situated on the family’s most significant estates. Each of these wineries has its own team of winemakers, whose mission is to produce the best possible wines from the grapes of each property.
