The Herdade de Vale Barqueiros spans about 800 hectares, was founded in 1853, and sits just a few kilometres from Alter do Chão in the beautiful Norte Alentejana region. It is an extensive estate owned by the family of Comendador Vasco Faria, which splits its main activities between grape and olive production under an irrigation system. Today it covers 122 hectares of vineyards and 368 hectares of olive groves, from which only the finest fruit is selected to produce the wines and oils sold under the “Vale Barqueiros” brand.
