This Sousa Lopes Reserva bursts with youthful energy, boasting a gorgeous straw-coloured hue. The nose dances with orange blossom, a hint of the Alvor’s sea salt, and a spicy kick – a lovely echo of the old vine’s character. On the palate, that signature Vinho Verde acidity is beautifully refined, thanks to the Alvarinho, and it’s simply begging for a creamy sheep’s cheese or a fragrant prawn curry. Serve between 12 and 14°C and prepare to be charmed.
