This Studio By Miraval seems to have genuinely cracked the code on “battachonnage” – or so it seems – ditching the French boots entirely and opting for tulip-shaped concrete vats. The unwavering use of stainless steel for the Cinsault and Tibouren certainly contributes to a vibrant freshness, cleverly enhanced by the tulip’s natural convection. The result is a remarkably pale rosé, almost translucent, with bright notes of citrus, white flowers, and a subtle iodine hint, leading to a surprisingly complex flavour profile. Absolutely delightful with seafood, but possessing the backbone to stand up to something a little more…intriguing, wouldn’t you agree?
