Susana Esteban is one of Portugal’s winemakers who has collected the most awards. Her ingenious creations stay in the memory, and her collaborations showcase what good is done in Portuguese wine. She began her career in 1999, and in 2011 launched her Alentejo project, buying her first vineyard plots. In 2012 she received the most prestigious award a winemaker can earn in Portugal – “Enólogo do Ano” (Enologist of the Year) from Revista de Vinhos – and was the first and only woman to receive the honor.
