From a single vineyard plot with roughly twenty years of history, Talha de Frades 1x1 red is the result of a mistake that turned into brilliance. Instead of the traditional 2/3 Aragonês and 1/3 Trincadeira at harvest, boldness prevailed and they harvested 50 % of each variety, giving birth to this unique wine, the 1x1. The distinctive intensity of Aragonês finds balance in the pronounced softness and rebellious elegance of Trincadeira. This wine, a tasty testament to an error turned success, reveals a one‑of‑a‑kind personality. Talha wine is an ancient winemaking tradition that dates back to Roman times and is characterized by production in large clay amphorae, known as talhas. The process involves fermenting and maturing the wine inside these clay vessels, giving it unique characteristics. Talhas allow a gradual interaction between the wine and oxygen, contributing to its evolution and complexity. This method preserves cultural traditions and regional traits, resulting in distinct wines often associated with regions such as Portugal, where the practice still persists, representing a link between history and modernity in wine production.
