“Molino Real is undoubtedly a project born of almost obsessive passion. Crafted on the steep slopes of Cómpeta, this wine, driven by the concentrated sweetness of Moscatel de Alexandria, feels like it was intentionally designed to stand the test of time. The traditional ‘asoleo’ technique – a prolonged sun-drying of the grapes – combined with the oxidized Paleozoic shale soils, contributes an almost mystical complexity. With a demanding 2.5kg of grapes per litre, the result is a powerfully sweet wine, recalling the glories of Tokaji and Sauternes. It’s a true ode to mountain viticulture, a testament to the resilience of Cómpeta’s vineyards, and a reflection of Telmo Rodríguez’s vision. Excellent paired with aged cheeses or dishes featuring nuts.”
