The Viticultural Cooperative of Pico Island was founded in 1949, when local producers joined forces to revive the noble grape varieties and the culture of stone‑farm vineyards, now classified as UNESCO World Heritage. Over the years, more members have joined the cause, bringing the total to 250, including women, men and families who devote their lives to their passion and a centuries‑old art. Today, with 70 years of history, it is the oldest wine producer in the Azores and continues to respect and preserve viticultural traditions.
