According to its age, the wines may show time‑worn marks such as dust on the bottles or minor label damage – common in vintages that have spent decades in storage. The National Cellar stores all wines at the proper temperature and humidity, yet preserves the visual appearance that comes with age. We usually choose brands/regions that perform well in old‑wine competitions. However, wine is a living organism that, like everything, ages, and even sealed in a bottle its aromas evolve. Therefore the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the wine’s quality, as it is an old wine. We recommend opening and letting the bottle breathe first, which helps release its natural aromas after so many years closed. Avoid decanting, as it can be too aggressive for old wines.
