This white wine certainly has aspirations – it just hasn’t quite blown us away yet. The “Terras do Baco Alentejo” clearly aims for a strong regional identity, built around traditional Alentejo grapes like Antuerta and Grosselha. Whether the sandy terroir and intense sun will ultimately deliver the personality the name suggests remains to be seen. A good match would be a lightly spiced grilled white fish – something delicate enough to not overwhelm it.
