Founded in 1920 by Deonilde Freitas, the house was carried on by Germana Freitas and later by Ermelinda Freitas, who always paid special attention to wine. From the first generation, the family has focused on the quality of its vineyards and wines, which were initially produced and sold in bulk without a proprietary brand. With the current management a major shift took place: the creation of proprietary labels, and in 1997 a new cycle began with the first wine produced and bottled by Casa Ermelinda Freitas.
