Hailing from the slopes of the Dão, guided by the wisdom of Avó Áurea, this Bastardo is a seriously robust wine, born from grapes grown at 600 metres beneath the Serra da Estrela, nestled amongst granite rocks. The winemaking – with a hefty 30% fermented whole cluster – and a 15-day maceration, really lend it a rich texture and a strong character. It’s a fitting tribute to the Dão’s tradition, and would pair wonderfully with a good, grilled beef or a slow-roasted lamb.
