According to its age, wines may show time‑induced marks such as dust on the bottles and/or label damage, common in bottles stored for decades. The National Wine Cellar keeps all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but always preserves the visual character that comes with age. We generally choose brands/regions that perform well in old wine tastings. However, wine is a living organism exposed to time, and even sealed, its aromas evolve in different ways. Thus the National Wine Cellar cannot be held responsible for the wine’s quality, given it is an aged wine. We recommend opening and letting the bottle breathe first, which helps release the natural aromas after many years closed. Avoid decanting, as it may be too aggressive for old wines.
