This Tiago Cabaço Syrah is a bold statement from the Alentejo. The fermentation, carried out using the traditional foot treading method, imparts a remarkable depth of colour and aroma, hinting at a truly dedicated producer. The influence of both young and aged oak barrels – think elegant, fruity carvoarias – adds finesse, while the powerful yet supple tannins deliver a finish that practically defies the typical ageing expectations of Alentejo wines. Seriously, this would be incredible with a perfectly grilled steak, a generous pinch of black pepper… don’t say I didn’t warn you.
