This “Titan” from the Douro isn’t a wine for the faint of heart. The deep, rich chestnut colour hints at a wine that’s spent considerable time maturing, and the aromas – a veritable symphony of preserves and dried fruits – certainly suggest a sophisticated age. Notes of fine oak echo the renowned “Vinhas Velhas” vineyards. On the palate, the texture is luxuriously smooth, with tannins so refined they glide effortlessly, culminating in a long, lingering finish. Absolutely superb with a well-aged cured cheese, perhaps a Douro sweet wine, for a truly complete experience.
