Description

Tordo: The grapes for this wine are selected from the best family‑owned vineyards of Loureiro. Viticulture The Basto sub‑region is the most interior part of the Green Wine Region, with Mondim de Basto the only Transmontano municipality carrying that designation. Situated at a medium‑high altitude, it is naturally sheltered from sea winds. The soils are largely granite – the ideal terroir for mineral‑profile wines. The climate is more harsh, with cold, wet winters and hot, dry summers, favouring the main white varieties of the region, notably Alvarinho, Loureiro, Arinto and Azal. The beauty of this rural area is rivalled only by the magnificent Tâmega River, which winds around all our vineyards. Winemaking The harvest is carried out manually, using the wine’s own grapes, picked and transported to the cellar in 25‑kg crates. It is followed by total destemming, a slight pressing and decantation. Fermentation takes place in stainless‑steel tanks with temperature control. No malolactic fermentation or oak is used. The wine undergoes clarification and micro‑filtration immediately before bottling, ensuring its microbiological stability. 100 % vegan‑friendly.
