Thirty thousand maravedis was the price the noble Castilian Álvaro de Luna paid for the domains of San Martín de Valdeiglesias to the friars of the Santa María convent. The figure gives its name to the “vino de pueblo” of Marañones and is an excellent example of the character of Garnacha from this subzone, at the foot of the Gredos mountains: floral, perfumed, elegant, with nuance and depth.
