Dr. Loosen A true masterpiece in the heart of the Mosel. This vineyard, called Ürziger Würzgarten, whose name means "The Spice Garden of Ürzig," is a visual marvel with its steep red slopes. Forming a picturesque amphitheater around a dramatic bend in the Mosel River, it lies directly adjacent to the vineyards of Erden, yet produces a wine that is completely different, characterized by unique and exotic aromas, notes of spice, and a fascinating earthiness. The grapes are selectively harvested from the best parcels of very old, ungrafted vines planted in the red volcanic soil of Ürzig, unique in the Mosel. Fermentation is natural, in traditional Fuder casks, where the wine remains on its lees for 24 months. The GG Reserve wine is then kept in bottle for a further 36 months before release.
