The Quinta da Ribeirinha is located in Póvoa de Santarém, in the Tejo region. The passion for wine and, more than that, the constant dedication to viticulture has been passed down through the Cândido family for generations. José Cândido, the family patriarch, began his professional life as a farmer at a young age, with wine as his main source of income. A few years later, his son Joaquim Cândido—a medical doctor and wine enthusiast—took over the family business, expanding vineyards, building his own cellar, and, keeping pace with technological advances, applying scientific methods to the production process. Soon after, two of his children, Mariana and Rui, economists and biochemists by training, completed the team that now manages the company. The oenology is handled by César Machado.
