Quinta da Ribeirinha is located in Póvoa de Santarém, in the Tejo region. The passion for wine—and more than that, the constant dedication to viticulture—has been passed down to the Cândido family for several generations. José Cândido, the family patriarch, began his professional career as a farmer, with wine as his primary source of income. A few years later, his son Joaquim Cândido, a doctor with a passion for viticulture, inherited the activity, expanding the vineyard, building a private cellar, and incorporating scientific methods into the production process as technology evolved. Soon after, two of his children—Mariana, an economist, and Rui, a biochemist—joined the team, now overseeing the company’s administration. Enology is handled by César Machado. (illustrative image)
