The Quinta da Ribeirinha is located in Póvoa de Santarém, in the Tejo region. The passion for wine, and more than that, the constant dedication to viticulture, has been passed down to the Cândido family for several generations. José Cândido, the patriarch of the family, began his professional life as a farmer at a young age, with wine being his main source of income. A few years later, José Cândido’s activity was inherited by his son Joaquim Cândido, a doctor who is also passionate about wine, who decided to support the family business, continuing the planting of new vineyard areas, building his own cellar, and, keeping up with technological advancements, applying scientific methods to the production process. Shortly thereafter, two of his children, Mariana and Rui, economists and biochemists by training, completed the team that now assumes the administrative functions of the company. The winemaking is handled by César Machado.
