Since 1937, Caves do Solar de São Domingos has produced sparkling wines, old brandies, bagaceira brandy, and Bairrada and Dão wines. Its cellars house more than two million bottles of sparkling wine, thousands of bottled wines, and hundreds of French oak casks for its famed vinic brandies. The “São Domingos” Bagaceira brandy, distilled in its own stills, continues to lead the market with its usual quality. In 2006 a modern vinification centre was inaugurated, capable of processing a thousand tonnes of grapes from its own estates and from viticulturists working in partnership with the company. Constant innovation in production and vinification methods has raised the quality and prestige of the house’s wines, reinforcing São Domingos’s commercial competitiveness. Enotourism is also a winning bet, dazzling thousands of visitors each year with the beauty of the rock‑cut galleries, the millions of bottles, as well as the showroom, lounge and museum with tasting room—an integral part of the Bairrada Route.
