"Terroir" wine sourced from old vines aged between 60 and over 100 years, located on slopes at 650 m above sea level on poor granitic sandy soils, blended from red varieties with Rufete, Baga and Folha Figueira predominating. Quinta do Vale Ruico Vinhas Velhas offers an intense color, a complex aroma of ripe fruit with hints of rock rose, pine and dried grass. The tannins are smooth and the finish long. It is suitable for ageing for several years. The ideal serving temperature is 16–18 °C. It pairs well with red meats, stews and roasts.
