This Vall da Nogueirinha Grande Reserva, masterminded by Marco Almeida Correia, is a wine that’s clearly not shy about its barrel aging. Having spent 24 months in French oak, it boasts a deep purple hue and aromas of ripe red fruits, with a surprisingly delightful hint of cocoa. On the palate, the structure is undeniably powerful, but balanced by velvety tannins and acidity – a fantastic match for a hearty beef roast, I’d say.
