Casal de Vale Pradinhos is a 450‑hectare agricultural estate founded in 1913 and owned by the Pinto de Azevedo family ever since. The wines produced here blend native Portuguese varieties—Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, and Malvasia Fina—with well‑known international grapes, notably Cabernet Sauvignon, Gewürztraminer, and Riesling. Maria Antónia Pinto de Azevedo Mascarenhas, great‑granddaughter of the founder Manoel Pinto de Azevedo, is the current owner of Casal de Vale Pradinhos. She has been shaping the estate’s wines since taking control in 1994, and her daughter Maria will become the fourth generation of women directly involved in running the property. (Illustrative image)
