Vallegre – Vinhos do Porto, S.A. is a Portuguese company whose shareholders represent the fifth generation of a family deeply rooted in the Douro region, dedicated to producing Port wines and high‑quality DOC Douro table wines. Its registered office is at Quinta da Vista Alegre, on the right bank of the Douro, between the mouth of the Rio Pinhão and Covas do Douro. The estate’s origins in winemaking predate the 19th century, a conclusion drawn from specialized grape‑typology literature and some abandoned cellars – the mortuary rooms. Quinta da Vista Alegre was acquired by the Cunha Barros family in 1965 and later became part of Agrícula Barros S.A.’s holdings. Today, without renouncing its past and the wisdom passed down through generations, Vallegre remains a modern, dynamic company with the primary goal of producing the highest‑quality Port and DOC Douro wines. The wines are now sold and enjoyed in more than fifty‑five countries, and recent awards and distinctions from various international competitions attest to and recognize the quality of the wines produced at this estate.
