The bottles of older wines may show dust traces and damaged labels, which is normal given their age. Garrafeira Nacional is committed to storing all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but always retains the visual appearance inherent to their age. We select brands/regions that usually reveal distinct characteristics in tastings of vintage wines. However, we note that wine is a living organism exposed to time, and even within a bottle its aromas evolve differently. Thus Garrafeira Nacional cannot be held responsible for the product’s quality, as it is an old wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let the wine breathe first, as this will help release its natural aromas after so many years sealed. If you choose to decant before serving, do so patiently to detect the appearance of sediment, which a typical aged wine tends to develop. (Illustrative image)
