The Vaz de Carvalho family owns 100 hectares of land, of which 30 hectares are vineyards that are almost all mechanized and planted with selected grape varieties. Still, in a clear commitment to preserving tradition, they maintain a substantial area of old vines—tender, costly to harvest, and yielding very little—producing wines of great complexity and elegance. All of the estates are located in the municipality of Santa Marta de Penaguião, spread across the parishes of Cumieira, São João de Lobrigos, São Miguel de Lobrigos and Cever (illustrative image).
