This Verdejo from Valdebarreiro is a wine that clearly had a lively chat with its own grape. The intensely expressive aromas – bright citrus and green apple notes – suggest a variety that isn’t shy. The producer, understandably passionate about the local granite terroir, has bottled a wonderfully vibrant freshness. It’s a wine that, frankly, deserves a generous plate of Manchego cheese and some perfectly crispy cod fritters.
