This “Verdes Joãzinho Portugal Ramos Alvarinho” from 2013 certainly appears to have had a spirited journey. At this stage, the wine retains its characteristic vibrancy, hinting at a successful harvest, and it’s delivering a healthy dose of acidity – don’t anticipate a dry finish, that’s for sure. Clearly, the Alvarinho grapes gave it their all, and as one expects from Vinho Verde, the result is a light, refreshing wine with a lovely touch of white fruit. Perfect with grilled fish or a cheese board, perhaps for a picnic?
