This 2008 blend – 90% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Malbec sourced from Chalk Hill, Alexander Mountain Estate, and Bennett Valley – boasts an impressive intensity and richness, surpassing even the 2007. Currently young and a touch unrefined, it reveals remarkable concentration and balance, finishing with an extended, almost minute-long persistence. The deep plum and purple hue is complemented by notes of black fruit, forest floor, truffle, and springtime florals. Expect this wine to gracefully age for 25-30+ years.
