This Vértice Millésime feels like it stepped straight out of a fairytale from the Douro Valley, boasting a nose of intensely ripe red fruits and a hint of apple jelly – predictably earning a stellar 93 points from Robert Parker. The acidity is definitely noticeable, demanding a certain level of respect, and finishes with a lingering spicy note, which would pair beautifully with black pork with fig compote to tame it down.
