This Vidal Fleury Condrieu is a bit of a show-off, isn't it? It's bravely embraced some new oak, a surprising move for a Viognier. The producer clearly wants to layer in complexity, though thankfully with the restraint one expects from a region like Condrieu. Expect hints of spice and nuts, but approach with a thoughtful palate – you don't want to be overwhelmed! It’s particularly lovely with roasted game poussin or a creamy goat cheese.
