The Cooperative Winery of Vidigueira, Cuba and Alvito was founded in 1960, but its history extends far beyond those 60 years. It was created to protect the vineyard, the wine, and the millennial lifestyle of this Alentejo sub‑region, and to invest even more in renowned, high‑quality wines. With an approximate annual production of 6 million litres of wine and 8 million kilograms of grapes per harvest—derived from the cultivation of about 1,500 hectares of vineyards owned by its roughly 300 members—it is today a modern and prominent winery.
