This Villa Oliveira from Casa da Passarella is a wonderfully intriguing wine – a beautiful study in contrasts. Born from Dão Encruzado, it underwent a native fermentation, as if eager to share its very soul straight from the vine. Following a period in 600-litre oak barrels, it developed a lovely weight and elegance, with a distinct lychee note that makes it utterly captivating. A fresh, full-bodied wine with a long, lingering finish – absolutely divine with grilled fish and lemon, or roasted chicken infused with aromatic herbs.
