This is a truly delightful wine. Vincent Girardin’s Le Montrachet is a white that clearly savored its time maturing. Hand-harvested with meticulous selection of the grapes – treated almost as jewels – it leads to a remarkably delicate extraction, achieved with the patience of a low-pressure pneumatic press. The 25% of new French oak adds an elegant touch, without overshadowing the Chardonnay at its heart, a wine already lauded with a gold medal at the International Wine Challenge. Wonderful with poultry or seafood, really.
