Description

**Trufa** The name TRUFA was chosen because there are several parallels between this wine and a truffle: • both come from the earth, and both are rare and exclusive; • both are of exceptional quality and have a unique flavour; • both help enrich and make a meal truly special. This wine is produced from old vines (over 70 years old) at Quinta do Olival Velho, located on the left bank of the Douro River, between Régua and Pinhão. The vineyard grows in schist soil and combines around 30 different indigenous grape varieties. It sits at an altitude of 300 to 350 metres with a northern exposure, which gives the wine great freshness. With an average yield of 250 g per vine, these vines produce grapes of exceptional quality. **Winemaking:** After careful manual selection on the sorting table, the grapes were destemmed and foot-trodden in a granite lagar, then transferred to stainless steel vats, where they fermented for 8 days. **Ageing:** Following malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, 25% new and the remainder used. **Allergen information:** Contains sulphites.
