The bottles of older wines may show traces of dust and damaged labels, as is to be expected given their age. The National Cellar is committed to storing all wines at the proper temperature and humidity, yet it always chooses to preserve the visual appearance that comes with age. We select brands and regions that, on the whole, reveal distinctive characteristics when tasted in older wines. However, we must note that wine is a living organism, and even when sealed in a bottle, its aromas evolve over time. For this reason the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the product’s quality, as it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let the wine breathe first, which will help liberate its natural aromas after many years of being sealed. If you decide to decant the wine before serving, be patient and watch for the sediment that tends to form in an older wine. (illustrative image)
