Zafirah is a feminine name of Muslim origin meaning grace. It is the first wine from Constantino Ramos, winemaker and right‑hand man of the acclaimed producer Anselmo Mendes. Drawing on the region’s ancient traditions, the vineyards are located in Riba de Mouro and Tangil, high up in the municipality of Monção in northern Portugal. This is an artisanal wine with minimal winemaking intervention, produced in 1,000 bottles, each one hand‑labelled and numbered. A “verde tinto” dominated by Alvarelhão, Borraçal, Pedral and Vinhão grapes aged more than 70 years. (illustrative image only)
