This Leucura is a seriously intense experience – it almost feels like the wine is desperate to show you what it’s got. The colour is so deep, it’s a real statement, and the nose bursts with ripe black fruits like blackberry and cassis, but with a delicate violet undertone. The barrel aging adds layers of complexity without ever sacrificing the backbone of the Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca. It’s a beautifully balanced wine with firm tannins that integrate superbly, and it deserves to be savoured, perhaps alongside a hearty beef roast – a worthwhile investment for the discerning palate.
