Herdade Do Mouchão

About this producer

Herdade do Mouchão is a family estate in the Alentejo whose origins go back to 1824 with Thomas Reynolds & Son; the winery itself was built in 1901 and still keeps the traditions and crafting methods of that time. It produces red and fortified wines and brandies alongside other farm produce such as cork, olive oil, wool and honey. The first bottled wine appeared in 1949 and the Mouchão label in 1954; the estate was expropriated after the 1974 Revolution and returned to the family in 1986.
